Wadworth is filling up its trophy cabinet, collecting three beer awards this month alone, including gold for 6X in the UK bitter 4-5% ABV category in the World Beer Awards.
The brewery’s much-loved 6X beer picked up another two awards in the International Beer Challenge; bronze in in the ale category and a further bronze for Wadworth’s newest gluten-free beer. 6X Gold, in the speciality beer category.
6X is described by Wadworth as a well-rounded beer that’s copper in colour with a fruity, malty finish. 6X Gold is a hoppy and refreshing ale with sweet malt and spicy notes on the palate and a zesty citrus aroma.
Chris Welham, chief executive of Wadworth, said: “We are hugely proud of these accolades. 6X continues to be one of the most famous and well-loved ales from the South West of England, and we are honoured to have been recognised in these awards. 6X Gold is the newest addition to the Wadworth family and we are thrilled with the success of the beer.”
